St. George Home Ownership Program

St. George
The City of St. George offers up to $10,000 in recoverable, 0% interest loans for down payment and/or closing costs to first-time home buyers purchasing existing homes within the St. George city limits. The buyer accrues no interest and makes no payments until the home is either refinanced or sold.

Qualifications:

• 80% or less AMI (see Area Median Income Levels).
• Have not owned home within past 3 years.

Requirements:

• Purchase price cannot exceed $247,368.

Down Payment Assistance Program

Hurricane
The City of Hurricane provides up to $2,000 in down payment assistance to first-time home buyers.

Qualifications:

• Meet income requirements listed below.
• Qualify for USDA housing loan on own credit.
• Have not owned home within past 3 years.

Requirements:

• Home must be newly constructed or not previously occupied.

Mutual Self-Help Housing

Hurricane
The City of Hurricane sponsors this program to help gain home ownership by working as a team with other families on the construction of each other’s homes, with the guidance of a construction supervisor. Participants can qualify for a loan with no down payment.

Qualifications:

• Meet income requirements listed below.
• Good credit history.

Requirements:

• Purchase insurance policy to insure the home.
• Contribute minimum number of hours per week to building.
