American Dream Down Payment Initiative

Central Utah
The Six County Association of Governments offers down payment assistance to first-time home buyers purchasing homes in Juab, Millard, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne counties.

Qualifications:

• 80% or less AMI (see Area Median Income Levels).
• Have not owned home within past 3 years.

Mutual Self-Help Housing

Central Utah
The Six County Association of Governments sponsors this program to help gain home ownership through “sweat equity.” Participants work as a group to build about 65% of each of their homes in 10-11 months. The labor serves as a down payment, reducing the price of the home by approximately 20%. Qualified participants may also be eligible for reduced interest rate loans.

Qualifications:

• 80% or less AMI (see Area Median Income Levels).
• Good credit history.
• Do not exceed allowable debt by USDA standards.
• Do not currently own home.

Requirements:

• Purchase Builders Risk Policy to insure home.
• Contribute minimum of 30 hours per week to building.
